Could it possibly be a record that has been set, at the PGA’s Memorial that weekend? Twelve hours long to complete a round of golf, that is what the players had to endure during the second round at that weekend’s event. There was a six-hour rain delay, that put a complete halt to the action, and that was not something the players are using too. Hour, two, sometmie three hours tops is considered the norm for a rain delay. Six hours however had these palyers feeling rather rusty by the time they were able to resume play again.By the time the rain had stopped Carl Pettersson, did finish his round for the day and found himself at the top of the leader board. This was of course after five birdies in five hours, and a milkshake in the clubhouse during the stoppage. To Carl Peterson that could be considered a really good day, having bogey-free roudns generally are. With a 5- under 67 for the day, most of the pack could not even finish their round and he finds himself alone at the top with a two-stroke lead. Many of the golfers that did manage to finish their rounds looked completely exhausted, and while PGA star Chris Demarco did indeed finish, by the time he got to the fence where the fans were waiting for autographs, he did what he cuold in the way of appeasing the fans, then finally ran out of steam and said “I’ve been out here for twelve hours people”.Read more exciting sports articles at Suite101Article Source: http://EzineArticles.Com/?Expert=Mark_Barnes
